Senior Software Developer / Release Manager

Our ideal candidate has a history of success as a senior software developer and will be a member of the Tier 3 Software Support Team managing the delivery of multiple releases in a fast-paced, mission critical delivery environment. The successful candidate must be a critical-thinker with proven knowledge of the software development lifecycle and agile approaches. He/she must be a team player with the aptitude, energy, and proven skills to ensure that the Tier 3 development teams properly plan and scope iterations and releases, align resources, satisfy requirements, meet deadlines, and achieve delivery quality. The selected candidate must be able to provide oversight of the technical implementation for the solutions that make up the system. This includes managing technical teams (developers and testers), participation in code reviews, and closely working with the lead architect, requirements lead, and configuration manager. The role is also responsible to validate requirements, scope and schedule, supporting deployment and production operations as well as maintaining interactive relationships with clients. U.S. Citizenship and Active Secret or Interim Secret Clearance is required for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage planning and technical delivery ensuring scope is clear, resources are properly allocated, schedules are met and delivery quality is achieved
  • Participate in scope discussions, validate clarity of requirements and ensure business and technical visions align
  • Manage cross team and customer relationships as well as develop and mentor team members
  • Software Configuration Management and system documentation
  • Participate in process improvement, program vision and senior leadership oversight activities

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Software Development: 10 – 15 years
  • Java or .Net (ASP or C#): 5 - 7years
  • Team Leadership: 5 – 7 years
  • Agile Development and Tools such as Git: 3 – 5 years
  • Architecture: 3 – 5 years
  • Project Management: 2 – 3 years
  • Change Control: 3 – 5 years
  • Quality Assurance: 3 – 5 years
  • Production Support: 3 – 5 years
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field

Other Desired Skills:

  • Masters of Science in Computer Science or related field
  • MS SQL: 2-3 years
  • Rational Tools: 2- 3 years
